Jane at the Golden Gate Bridge, September 5, 2010

Several years ago when January's family finished reading the Book of Mormon, as a reward she took them to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. I thought at the time how much fun that would be.

I don't particularly have a "bucket list", but it is something I've wanted to do for several years. On my last visit up to the Sanders, January said "let's do it".

Bob had an appointment to show a house in Marin, so after church we went home, had a bite to eat, changed our clothes and then drove to the Marin side. He dropped us off and went to his appointment and off we went. It was a beautiful day, not crystal clear, but close to perfect. There were lots of people, but the bridge can handle a lot of people. We walked across, enjoyed the view from the SF side and then back. It was a wonderful experience and I think everyone should do it at least once in their lifetime

  1. I am very proud of Jane's accomplishments, the least of which is her working so hard to be able to walk 4 or 5 miles every day. Walking across the Golden Gate Bridge was the result of a lot of previous effort. Well done and well deserved!

  2. Wow! Very fun. Curious, how long of a walk was that? Probably nothing compared to your daily routine, but still...

  3. When it was built in 1937 it was the longest span in the world, and today is still the 9th longest suspension span. It's 1.7 miles across including the approach. (Thanks, Wikipedia)

It almost as old as me!
