Suzanne

Besides sharing Dennis, Suzanne and I have something else in common. BAD BACKS! A couple of days ago, she had surgery on Tuesday to help her.

That's a two thumbs up on how she's feeling.
(Thank goodness for drugs!)

Then she came home with lots of instructions. Get up and walk a little bit every hour or so. Don't lift anything heavier than a bottle of milk! Hey, those aren't exactly light. Sit only in straight back chairs. No lounging around, etc.. etc.,etc.

 Here they come . . .

 Dum-dum-de-dum . . .

 and here's what I think . . .
Making the complete circle at least 5 times! way to go Sue!

TA-DAH

Hooray!
He made it. After loading the truck  |(in very HOT weather, I might add) Ken drove non-stop to Utah, slept for a few hours, and then got the crew up to unload.
Dennis was there to help and take the picture of the finished product!

JULY 29- - -MOVING DAY!

(Dennis, Suzanne, Danielle, Katie & Daren and Sashy came to So Cal for a week's vacation, and came over one day and helped pack. Katie & Daren dis-assembled the shelves in the garage and Dennis vacuumed the rugs, rolled them up and taped them closed, and Sue and Danielle worked in the kitchen. They accomplished a great deal in the hours they spent helping. There are pictures, but I don't know where they are!)
Finally THE day arrived, July 29th, and so did lots of help. Ken's family had been down in So Cal for a short vacation and he planned it so that on his way home they would stop by and load the truck and then he would drive it to Mapleton. After arriving in Mapleton, he slept for a couple of hours and then Dennis joined them and they unloaded my things into his garage for safe keeping until I find a home for them.

Back to the 29th. I met Ken at the Penske place and we got a big truck that was brand new. Only 22 miles on it!
When I returned home, Erik and the boys were already
getting things out to the curb.

This Mom/Grandma was being helped by two sons,(Ken & Erik) two daughter-in-laws, (Coppelia & Kristin) 6 big grandsons,(Adam, Steve, Nathan, Ryan, Travis & Nate)1 smaller one (JP) and two helpful granddaughters. (Lindsey & Sophie).

Bro. Steve Nielsen from the ward came over to see how we were doing.
Note how the dining room is all cleared out.

Travis spent his 13th birthday helping his Grandma move.

We all sang happy birthday to Travis.

Everyone enjoyed the cake on Grandma's empty patio!

It was a very hot day and a lot of work, but in a few hours, mission accomplished! Coppelia and kids took off for Utah, Ken took off with the truck, Erik and Kristin took me and the kids to lunch and then they returned to Murrieta and I went back to the house to do one last look and then headed over to Murrieta where I collapsed for several days!

INTO THE HOUSE

Kristen still had energy left to spare, so it was into the house to tackle the pictures.
 First bubble wrap.
 Lindsey was a big help.

Then around and around and around she goes with the shrink wrap.
It was a barrel of laughs to see if she could out run Travis.

 Like speed lightening!

Wrapping the shelves from my craft room.

All completed. It was an exhausting job but Kristen kept at it until it was done!
 The finished product.

SIX WEEKS LATER . . .

I'm b a a a a a a c k. What's been going on lately?  Ever since I found out that I needed to move, it seemed like a good time to go through my "STUFF" and weed it out, throw some things away, give some to Goodwill, D.I. and Salvation Army. You know, spread the joy.

January came down for a week and we organized a garage sale. Erik and Travis, Nathan and Lindsey joined us. (Ryan had a Scout project to attend to and Kristen helped him out). The garage sale was a huge success, and what didn't sell, went home with Erik for Ryan's garage sale that he would hold in a few weeks to earn money for his Eagle project. (we were too busy to take pictures.) :-(

Then it was time to start packing. Boxes are almost impossible to find nowadays, so I bought some from U-Haul and began. A few boxes each day was my goal. As the time came closer to the move Kristin came over to help.

She tackled the garage first.
Wrapping some things to a peg board with zip ties.

Wrapping walking sticks with a professional whrink wrap.
A few hours later and it was done.
Check out the empty shelves (waiting for Daren and Katie to dissamble in a few weeks.
All neatly organized.
