Here's some recent and not so recent Ken sent from a camera he hasn't used for awhile. They are fun.
Mayra has graduated and is living with her Mom in Kansas (?) and hopes to enter UVU this January. Congratulations, Mayra.

And now back to the Pirate Party!

 Who is that pirate?

 She has an accomplice!

WOW! There's a lot of them.

Looks like someone has to walk the plank!

Family group last Autumn.  (Ken couldn't remember how to use the timer) but it's a great shot, isn't it?

Last day in the islands.

Oahu was the last island they visited and of course, the best. They were excited to head out to Laie to take their niece to lunch.

Of course you have to eat at the Hukilau Cafe.
Then it was off to the Hukilau Beach to spend the afternoon.
They practically had the beach to themselves.

Goodbye to Honolulu. Diamond Head in the background.

Now that's the way to watch a movie (Spiderman) with the moon in the background!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RHIANNON

THANKSGIVING IN UTAH

It's all about family. Looks like a wonderful day.

That's the whole group minus Aria, (and Ken who is taking the picture.) Coppelia's brother John is sitting next to her.

Good looking family. John is changing careers and has moved to Nephi for awhile.
What can be more fun than playing with your cousin's long hair?
Dennis wrote: Hair style by Sophie, side 2, included this apparent homage to Dumbledore.

Stylist and client.

Of course you have to play games, lots of games when you get together.

By a fluke of laryngitis, Sashy got to come home for a couple of days. Good therapy for everyone. It was a total surprise to her folks.

Playing Barbies on this chair for over an hour. I thought the Barbie choice that Sophie had for Sashy was appropriate.

A CRUISE TO HAWAII

A dream cruise. Over to Hawaii, around the islands and then back. NICE. January and Bob left today for 10 days. Here's a few pictures she sent from her camera.
They leave from San Francisco. That's their ship in the background.

You can see Coit Tower in the background and the Oakland Bay Bridge.
Taking a picture from their room looking out the window. You can see January taking the picture and Bob standing to the left. They will pass under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Leaving the port.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DANIELLE

It's raining birthdays around here. Add another one this time for Danielle who is hitting a mile-stone year of 25. Dainelle is working on her Master's Degree and I believe is the first woman in our family to attain that. (Am I right?)
Happy Birthday Danielle from all of us.

KATIE & DAREN

Here's an update on the newlyweds, Katie and Daren who just celebrated their first anniversary.

I have been working on a blog to send you. We still don't know exactly where we are moving so I was just waiting to hear back on that before I sent you an update. To keep you up to date, Daren and I have applied to like in an apartment complex, it's just taking them a while to process the application. The place we are hoping for is in Midvale, so that it is closer to Daren's work in Orem, but still easy enough to get to the U for my schooling.

I now work at a Veterinary Hospital. I really enjoy it! it is something different that I have never tried or thought of trying, but it is so fun to learn new things and to also have cute puppies visit the office daily. I'll need to take a picture of me in my scrubs, and I'll send that to you as well.

We hopefully will find out if we get the apartment either tonight or tomorrow (hopefully because we have to move out tomorrow anyway). I'll let you know what we hear.

Well, they didn't hear, but they still had to move, so about 5 pickup trucks shared their household things, taking them to various homes to await further instructions. Katie and Daren moved into Mom & Dad's basement for the time being.  I think it took a few more days before they were finally approved. Here's her next entry to me.

We love our new place. We haven't had much time to decorate it, but hope to have pictures up and hanging with decorations out by Thanksgiving.

Our community is great, very family-friendly! We have not yet been to our new ward yet. I was going to the old ward for a while because I was in the primary presidency and felt I could not leave in the middle of Primary Program planning time. I will miss those primary kids a lot. When I was first called as a Sunbeam teacher I was scared to death, but grew to love my kids so much! Then, when I was called as 2nd counselor, I was terrified again, but it allowed me to get to know the rest of the children. I love primary--I hope that in our new ward there is a spot open that I can be called to!

Daren and I just celebrated our first anniversary. We had a great weekend! On Friday the 19th, I surprised Daren with a photo-shoot. I can't wait to see the pictures! The girl that took our pictures is a very talented young girl. I thought it would be fun to have pictures to remember our first year. Although we still don't have the pictures quite yet, we will soon! I'll be sure to post some on Facebook, then see if I can send them on to you.

The next day (our actual anniversary) Daren surprised me with a 70 minute couples massage. It was so nice and relaxing! We then went to dinner to Cheesecake Factory (our favorite) then walked around City Creek Center (the new mall in SLC) and window shopped. It was so much fun!

Work is going really well. Daren and I are quite happy in our jobs. We work a lot, but we are just grateful that we both have jobs in this economy. I am finally settling into my new job at the Veterinary Hospital, which is nice because I feel comfortable now.

School is also going well. This is a very difficult and busy semester for me, but I'll be all the more grateful for when it is over! I have tests every week, papers due every week, and lots of studying. But, I am learning a lot and this is building a great base for the classes I will have for the next 3 semesters when I'll graduate!!

A WEEKEND GETAWAY IN ONE OF THE WORLD'S BEST CITIES.

SAN FRANCISCO
Erik had a job for his company in San Francisco and somebody had to go, so......
Here, in his words:

I have a new apartment project in San Francisco and needed to go visit the jobsite.  I flew up on Thursday where I met Derek at his office and he took me to lunch.  After lunch I took a cab to the jobsite did my thing then went back to the hotel and got cleaned up.  Derek and I went to dinner at a Thai restaurant which was a new experience for me because I didn’t know if I liked Thai food…and it turns out I love Thai food.

On Friday Kristin flew up to spend the weekend with me.  We had a great time and thought that the weather in San Francisco in November is so much better than in July.  We spent the weekend walking around China Town, the financial district and the Embarcadero.  We would sample a few items at a restaurant and then we would walk the meal off and enjoy the city until we found another restaurant that looked good where would sample some more food.   It was great weekend getaway and we cannot  wait to go back sometime.

Looks like China Town to me.

Alcatraz Island in the background.

Of course if you go to San Francisco you have to ride a cable car!

LIFE IN PARADISE

While Utah was getting covered with a big, white fluffy blanket, Aria was enjoying some sunshine with her friends.

When traveling back to Laie from Honolulu there is a famous landmark called
CROUCHING LION
It's a bit up there.

The best thing about hiking in Hawaii - - - NO SNAKES!!!

Now that's  Million Dollar view - -and the scenery isn't so bad either!
