2012 CHALLENGE UPDATE

Just a friendly reminder about the amazing challenge that Ken has presented for 2012. (Check the blog posted December 10th for complete details)

I've heard (through the grapevine - - nothing official yet) that some of the goals, in addition to those of the weight loss variety, are spiritual (Temple attendance, Scripture reading) and some are secular (reading 12 books in 2012, doing X-number of random acts of kindess during the year).

Get your thinking caps on and see if you can come up with a worthy goal to either stand alone or to do in addition to your weight reduction goal.

As I hear of the challenges, I'll post them to give others ideas.  Ken has set a limit of four (4) goals per person.

See if you can set the kind of goal that allows you to get back on that horse if you falter instead of giving up if you happen to mess up along the way. For example: "I will read 12 books during 2012 (rather than 1 book a month)." This way it allows for some make up time if events occur that makes it impossible to finish that 5th book in May.

In a few days, I will ask for a formal committment for the record of those that are going to participate and what goals they have set.

For the record, I will be the goal keeper. You will be required to submit your goal to me and report to me at least once a month.  Your monthly or semi-monthly report will include how you did that month and what you intend to accomplish the next month.

For those of you who are taking the weight reduction challenge, you can report to me the percentage of your weight loss (Ken has created a handy-dandy Excel spreadsheet designed to make it easy to do; you can download that here) or, if you prefer, I can handle the number crunching for you if you send me your weigh-in number on the 12th and/or the 24th, along with your summary of what you did for the preceding reporting period and what you're planning to do during the next reporting period.

So, let's go, everybody. Let's have some fun together as a family, while making some improvements (not that we need it!) and earning a chance to win some great prizes. Feel free to send me your goal(s) either in the comments below or, if you prefer, email them to my new email address: janeagle36@gmail.com.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

  1. I'm excited for this sweepstakes. It is going to be fun to hear what people plan on doing. I'm going to be doing the weight goal and two others.
