SPRING BREAK FOR THE MAPLETON GROUP

For Spring break, Ken decided to take a road trip with Mayra, Davis, Steven and Nathan. Their plan was to head North and see some sights and attend some games that Aria team was playing. After that they were going to go East to Iowa and visit Ruth and Julie. Here's what he wrote.

Right now I'm looking at a raging snowstorm in Wyoming. The weather hasn't cooperated all that well and the car is problematic. That said the trip has been FANTASTIC!! However, we're a bit sad that we won't make it out to Iowa. We've seen Scottsbluff (a first for Mayra), camped at Fort Robinson, visited the interesting town of Hot Springs, South Dakota, went to the very interesting Wind Caves of South Dakota, saw Mount Rushmore and loved it, visited Crazy Horse monument

When Ken gets here next week, we'll share the photos. (Mom)

being created and was surprised at its size, went to the world's largest Snake and amphibian museum (which was well loved, surprisingly by all) and then saw Devil's Tower,

which we had all to ourselves. Its off season so pretty much everything is closed, but the monuments are wide open for us to visit. There were about 20 people at Mount Rushmore so they catered to our every whim there. Pretty much how it has been the whole time.

The car has some warning lights going and Aria's games have been cancelled so it made more sense to go home. The camping has been adventurous, but we've mixed in motel rooms to ease the challenge. A very good trip. I'm sad that we couldn't make it to Iowa, but we'll get there. Summer would be a bit more fun I think. Anyway, lots of pictures to come with me next week. Speaking of which, can I stay at your home Tuesday through Friday?

I won't be there till late Tuesday as I'm going to THE DENTIST. Scary, but true. Kevin's at 7pm so Wednesday Baja Fish!!

Love ya, Ken
