ANTELOPE ISLAND

What to do on a beautiful fall day in Utah? I know! I'll drive to Bountiful, Utah and visit with cousin Keith. (Actually Dad's cousin Ruth's husband - got that)?

We had a wonderful visit at his house where he showed me all the wooden bowls he has made with his lathe. They are remarkable and absolutely beautiful. I'm privileged to own one that he gifted us several years ago.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch at Applebee's and then he took me on a drive to Antelope Island. I've always wanted to go there, but didn't think I'd ever get the chance.
There is a very nice causeway to drive over to the island.

Here's a few pictures I took.

From the island looking back to SLC.

Looking further north.

Cousin Keith, soon to be 90!

A few other cars with people enjoying the view.

This couple is going for a hike probably to the highest peak on the island. Keith says it is quite a hike.
She's hoping to catch some butterflies.

There they are further up the trail. The highest mountain is that 3rd peak from the left.

Just another beautiful shot. It was extremely quiet and very peaceful.

One of the markers.

Another pretty shot.

A couple of buffalo. We saw a large herd.

Close up with a telescope but even still, he was quite close to our car.

AHA! An antelope. They are quite small and lovely to look at.

Some of the herd.

This was really some interesting info.

 A magpie.

Me getting a shot of her!

Here's a couple of stock pictures from the internet.

Let's not forget the Great Salt Lake is very easy to float in!

Here's a short little blurb if you are interested.
