AUTUMN IS IN THE AIR

Our days are still nice and warm, almost hot in the afternoon, but there is a chill in the air in the early morning.

You can see Jack Frost's work up in the mountains.

 Another area.

It won't be long before the leaves in town begin to turn.

This used to be a "Carnegie Library.

Carnegie library is a library built with money donated by Scottish-American businessman and philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, who made much of his money in steel. A total of 2,509 Carnegie libraries were built between 1883 and 1929, including some belonging to public and university library systems. 1,689 were built in the United States660 in the United Kingdom and Ireland125 in Canada, and others in AustraliaSouth AfricaNew ZealandSerbia, the CaribbeanMauritiusMalaysia andFiji.

Most of the library buildings were unique.] The architecture was typically simple and formal, welcoming patrons to enter through a prominent doorway, nearly always accessed via a staircase. The entry staircase symbolized a person's elevation by learning. Similarly, outside virtually every library was a lamppost or lantern, meant as a symbol of enlightenment. He donated almost 90 percent of his fortune.

Now this library has been turned into a Daughters of Utah Pioneers Museum.  I decided to visit it today and it was very enjoyable.

This is one of the statues just outside the museum.

Here's one of Mark Twain, just waiting for you to join him in reading a book!
