Here's an update from Sashy on what's going on in the life of the Killpacks.
Curtis and I teach the 12 year olds in our ward. Curtis is also a WEBLOS Scout Leader.
Also, a few months ago Pops informed me that the Scera Theater was putting on The Little Mermaid this summer. I couldn't help but audition! I love and miss both dancing and The Little Mermaid and so I am pleased to announce that I am a dancer in the Little Mermaid! It runs for two weeks in the outdoor theater this June. I am dance captain in rehearsals aka the choreographer's assistant, and in the play, I am a fish, seagull, maid, and "Ariel's stunt double. It is a lot of fun and Curtis is super kind to let me go rehearse every night for 3 hours.
Both Curtis and I have just finished finals at BYU and UVU respectively. We both did extremely well (Curtis did AMAZING in his insanely difficult classes) and are excited to have a break this Summer! Curtis is majoring in Bioinformatics (Biology + Computer Science) and I am majoring in Communications with an emphasis in journalism/broadcasting.
So here's some pictures Sashy sent. Enjoy!
Curtis and I dated for 5 years before we got married. FIVE YEARS. That's a long time in Utah County! Because of this though, we truly are best friends. One of my favorite things about Curtis is how much he makes me laugh. Pops snapped this photo a few months ago after we had just told a made-up joke to each other. Clearly, we think we are hilarious. Granted, marriage can be hard, moments like this make it absolutely worth it.
The photo at Krispy Kreme is my graphic design class on a day that we just needed a break! Thankfully, Krispy Kreme is about a 10 minute walk from school.
I still work at doTERRA, the essential oil company, in the Education & Science Team. Basically, my role in the company is to work with members and educate them about the products so that they can teach others correct and compliant information. In July I will have worked there for two years. I don't love what I do necessarily, but I sure do love my co-workers.
Curtis works at his dad's company, RCS, with his brothers. He is a radio technician.
In the picture from L to R is Devin (brother), Nate (brother), and Curtis.
The group of people around the table are my co-workers and me at a team lunch.
The decorated cubicle is my cubicle on my birthday. Thanks co-workers!
Coco has been such a delightful addition to our family! We (aka I) love to dress her up for each holiday whether that be with an outfit, hat, or bow. She tolerates it superbly and we love her so much for it. Also, she and Brannigan now get a long! It took several Sunday dinner visits for them to get comfortable with each other but now, they don't growl or bark at each other. Wahoo!
In November, Curtis surprised me with tickets to see Taylor Swift (aka my favorite singer/person in the world). It was one of the best night's of my entire life! And he was such a trooper to sit through a concert with me.
A few months ago we went to a Utah Jazz game. We were in row 15 thanks to a friend's work. It was fun to be able to watch the players in real life rather than on the big screen in the nosebleed seats. We don't often have time for leisure activities but when we do, we enjoy them soooo much!
The Killpack's got to go through the Provo City Center Temple Open House as well! We felt so fortunate to go twice. What a beautiful building!
This photo is of Curtis in the Math Lab with several of his buddies.
Curtis standing up with a certificate in his hands is his Spanish diploma. (Curtis took an advanced Spanish class this past semester to brush up on his Espanol. He got the highest grade in the class on his final!)
This is a photo of Coco for my Photoshop Final. I had help from Pops (because Photoshop is tough) and I got an 'A'!
Coco loves to sit on my lap like a human while I do my homework.
I forced Pops to hold Coco! As everyone knows, he is not a big fan of dogs but I made him hold him and he did so well! It was the first and last time that will ever happen but it meant a lot to me that he at least held her once.
This is a sketch a man in our stake did of us. It's of our engagement photo. There's no doubt that he's extremely talented but it's also a bit scary...?
Dad and I at his play last year. He is such an amazing writer and director. AND he's a good looking stud. Triple threat!
lunch.
The picture of myself and three other girls in green vests is at doTERRA convention. (Every year this occurs-- last year, 27,000 people were in attendance!)
