LIFE IN FLORIDA AT WDW

Here is a sweet letter we recently received (Oct. 23) from Sashy. (I've inserted a few comments for clarification.)

Hello Grandma-ma!

It so nice to hear from you. I have lots to fill the fam bam in on! Though I have been here for a month and a half, I am still being put through all different sorts of trainings due to the variety of roles here in the entertainment department at WDW. (Just yesterday I had 'Parade Orientation' which means I will now get to be a part of the magical parades that take place in the Magic Kingdom. I'm so excited!) But that does not mean I haven't started working yet. I most certainly have! I work out in the parks most days, all day. In the entertainment business we like to say we are "friends" with the characters so as not to spoil the magic or integrity of the beloved Disney characters. (Sashy has been several different "friends"so far.)

Right now I work about 5 days a week but closer to Thanksgiving and Christmas it will be more like 7 days a week and approximately 60 hours. Eek! However, I am so blessed to like my job so though it will be exhausting, I'm excited. (Especially for the shows and parades which I will start being scheduled for. Yippeeeeee!!!!)

As far as the roommate situation goes, unfortunately Becca left the program this morning due to personal reasons. But she felt she had taken all that she was going to take from her internship and was ready to go home. So now our apartment has one less girl in it. We don't know if it will stay this way or if we'll be getting a new roomie sometime soon. I suppose only time will tell! (As I recall there are six girls in her apt., 2 to a room.)

The ward is really great. I have never been able to go to 9am church due to work but I have been able to attend the nighttime church. There's a sacrament meeting that meets at 8pm. It's wonderful and I am so grateful the church is so accomodating to us interns who have no choice but to work on Sundays. I meet with the missionaries about once every other week. No, not because I am investigating the church (I'm already a member, of course!) but they invite me along to join in on investigator's lessons. There is an investigator who lives right above me and it's such an interesting experience to join in on her lessons. It's always pretty nerve wracking though because I don't want to say the wrong thing at such an important time of her life but I know the Lord is using me as an instrument in his hands and because of that reason, so far the lessons I join in on have gone well.

I hear from Curtis ( her special friend and a really nice guy) about once a week via letter and he is doing well! It's crazy to me that he has nearly been out 100 days already. If anyone wants to write him his address is:

Elder Curtis Daniel Killpack
New York New York North Mission
700 White Plains Rd Suite 315
Scarsdale, NY 10583-5013

Whether or not you know him, it's fun to write missionaries, don't you think? I know not everyone in the family has served a mission (I'm included in that group!), but we all have or have had some sort of connection to a missionary!

School is crazy. I take that back. If I was just taking my class and not working a million hours/week, it wouldn't be crazy. But school plus work is tricky. I used to work and go to school at the same time but I wasn't working these (many) hours. My teacher, though enthusiastic, is not afraid to pile on the homework! However, thankfully none of it is busy work. It's all beneficial stuff that will help me in my professional life. So though there are some nights I don't want to be up late writing papers and such but I know it will all be worth it.

Well Grandma, I'm trying to attach some pictures but my laptop keeps crashing so I will work on that some more but if it doesn't work, I'm really sorry! (It did work and here's what Sashy sent) You are always free to grab pictures from facebook though, if worse comes to worse. (I did grab a few more. Too good to not add!)

I always say this but it's becasue it's true: I love your blog! You are one tech-savy Grandma. I'm so proud of you! (Thank you Sashy for that much appreciated comment!)

Love you and Gpa lots and lots!

Always,

Sashy

Alexandra had a wonderful visit from her Dad and 'big' sister.

Of course they had to shop. Cute hats!

Check out that special tattoo Danielle is sporting.
Hope it's temporary!

Why there's a passing princess.

They enjoyed seeing a parade.
Sashy says there are several parades each day.

Here's a couple of pictures I grabbed from Sashy's Facebook. Too good to miss.
These were taken back in Utah.
Now here's the 'real' couple!

I guess that's a backpack, but what is on her head?????

Now here are three real princesses!
