THE SANDERS TAKE A CHURCH HISTORY TRIP

They had a wonderful trip, flying into Rochester, New York and then doing most of the touring on a bus with a group of very nice people.
(Here's some pictures in no particular order.)

Three bags for January and one for Bob.
Hey, a gal has to look good.

One of the shops in Nauvoo.

They took a paddle boat trip on the Mississippi.

They enjoyed a wonderful tour of the Kirtland Temple. At the end of the tour they asked if anyone played the piano and could accompany them as they sang, The Spirit of God Like a Fire Is Burning,(which was written especially for the Temple dedication). So our January has played the piano in the Kirtland Temple. How many people can say that?

Joseph Smith's family home near the Sacred Grove.

THE SACRED GROVE.

 Grandin Print Shop
Where the Book of Mormon was first published in 1830.

Bob standing by the Erie Canal. I learned a song in 5th grade that made me aware of the Erie Canal.

I've got a mule and her name is Sal,
Fifteen years on the Erie Canal.
She's a good old worker and a good old pal.
Fifteen years on the Erie Canal.
We've hauled some barges in our day
Filled with lumber, coal and hay
And every inch of the way we know
From Albany to Buffalo,

(Chorus)
Low bridge, everybody down,
Low bridge, for we're coming to a town
And you'll always know your neighbor
And you'll always know your pal
If you've ever navigated on the Erie Canal.
(There are about 5 more verses . . . )

ADAM-ONDI-AHMAN

Before the boat ride on the Maid of the Mist.

 A view of the falls.

After the boat ride, and yes, you really need those rain parkas.

Great trip Sanders. Thanks for sharing with us.
