Dennis Eugene Agle, 80, passed away peacefully at his home
in San Juan Capistrano, California, on Nov. 7, 2013.
Born on Jan. 16, 1933 in Sacramento, California, to Magne
Agle and Leone Christenson, he lost his father in 1937 to tuberculosis. His
mother was remarried in 1939 to Axel Anderson.
Dennis served four years in the U.S. Navy. While he was
assigned to a naval air base in Phoenix, Arizona, he met the love of his life,
Carol Jane Price, at a church dance. They were married on Aug. 8, 1953.
Dennis earned his bachelor's degree from Arizona State
University and his master's degree from the University of Hawaii. He spent the
majority of his career as an administrator for four universities: Church
College of Hawaii (now Brigham Young University-Hawaii) in Laie, Hawaii;
Southern Utah State College (now Southern Utah University) in Cedar City, Utah;
Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah; and United States International
University in England and in San Diego, California.
Dennis was deeply devoted to his family and to his faith. He
served in many different callings in his church, the Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter-day Saints, including bishop twice.
There will be two services for family and friends. One will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 470 Camino San Clemente, San Clemente, California.
