LOBSTER
Today I visited my favorite dentist, Kevin Rummler and now my teeth on scraped and pretty! Look Ma! No cavity's. While there, I asked about his lobster catch and he explained how you catch a lobster. You go at night and wear a wet suit with a weight in the back. With your snorkel and mask on, and a flashlight, you skim the surface until you see your prey. Turn off the flashlight and dive down and then turn it on and grab the lobster getting a firm hold so he can't escape. Put him in the bag making sure (at least 5 times) that he is secured. This is what you get!

A VISIT FROM THE SANDERS
January and Bob came down to visit for a few days. They also spent a couple of days in San Diego with some old friends, and among other things, attended a Padre's game.
While they were in San Diego, the Rummlers visited us on Wednesday and we enjoyed lunch and reminiscing about the two trips we took together in 1999 & 2000 back East to visit U.S. historical sites, and church history sites
Enjoying the scrapbooks.
When the Sanders came back we did a few things such as .
Basting a quilt together to get ready to quilt.
Visiting . .
Having my toenails painted.
Out to eat once, (but was a little much for Papa)
Bob trying out the recliner . . .
Saying goodbye to them as they drove back to Fairfield.

PRIMARY PROGRAM
Once a year, the Primary presents the program in Sacrament Meeting. It is one of the most enjoyable meetings of the year when all the children in the Primary present a sweet message and sing wonderful songs. Here's what went on in the Carlton's ward last Sunday.
Today was our Ward's Primary Program. Quinton is a Deacon so he wasn't in
it. Declan, McCoy and Archer all had speaking parts and did a really good
job.
That is one good looking group!
Zaynzley is officially in nursery now and she loves it. Unfortunately, she has figured out how to climb out of her crib (none of my other kids have done that so young). So she likes to climb in the crib when she is ready for a nap but when I want her to stay in she will sometimes hop out. She is an adventure! |

LETTERS, WE GET LETTERS, . .
Here's a short excerpt from Hermana Agle's last letter.
Four Hermanas |
I am so happy you got to
see my little brother off! He sounds like he is definitely doing hard. He
really is so amazing. :) I am so proud of him! Gosh I am so proud of my family
actually, you all do so much more than you realize! So keep on doing it, it is
making a difference!
Oh this past Saturday we
had this thing called Centro de Visitantes en la Capilla in Consistorial,
which is the ward that our district leader is in. We four hermanas had to go to
be tour guides throughout the church.
When we didn´t have
anyone waiting for tours, we went out and brought people in who were passing by
on the street on foot. Well, we had a group of about 4 young teenage boys
(13-14 years old) who came in with their backwards hats and skateboards, but
they stayed for the whole tour :) When we were packing up, they kept
coming back to shake hands with Hna Braun and me and
finally, two of them came up to me and said, "Um, tia? (literally
means aunt, but it basically means miss) Our friends wanted to tell you that
they think you're really cute, and want to know how old you are"
Hermana Braun told them we were 21 and 22 and they started laughing and
said "Ya perdimos!" (we´ve already lost) Hermana
Braun told them they lost back when they tried to start hitting on
misioneras! I was just slightly baffled at their bravery hahaha. On the other
hand Elder Frost was NOT happy, haha. Were we that obnoxious as 13-14 year
olds? The answer is probably yes... haha.
And Davis has arrived at his mission area. Here's a few comments he made.
September 16, 2013—Week 3
Well, I got to my zone last
Tuesday, and we were white washed and blue washed into the zone. I'm not sure if
you use those terms but white is where neither of us were in the zone and blue
is when we're going there to replace sisters (hermanas, in this case). So we
arrived Tuesday, and it was late because we had to go to each area, drop off
the multitude of luggage we had accrued from the voyage, and ours was the last.
We are the northernmost zone in the Ventura District, specifically Paso Robles
(2nd Ward). The hot season is ending, thankfully, because it was over 100 for a
few days here, and it made the walking quite painful.
Anywho, my companion is Elder
Crapo (French: pronounced like crepe-o) and he's a foreigner, specifically from
Canada. He's been great, and we've been getting along quite well; no fights nor
conflict thus far. I had a little cold during the week, which apparently got to
Elder Crapo, but more on that later. He's a nice elder, shorter than I and he's
a bit of a crazy driver, but he's been teaching me quite well (I think, at any
rate) and I'm learning a lot. We talk about life and such and discuss various
things like that.
Sunday church was great, though it's
still 9 o’ clock like at home. I gave the opening prayer and my companion the
closing, but there were 2 interesting things going on: a mission farewell for
an elder going to North Carolina, and a talk given by the people whose house we
live under (Loughmillers, have a fantastic basement den they converted into
housing and it's great) which was on Grace. She talked about how by Grace we
were all saved, but the reason we're instructed to be obedient is because it
determines how comfortable we wish to be in God's presence and how great we
wish our glory to be.
Anywho, we spent much of the day
at the apartment, as Elder Crapo has come down with Strep and is quite
susceptible to meds. The one dose resulted in some interesting things from him,
but a 2 hour nap seemed to help.
Love ya so much, and thank you for your words of comfort. I'm so
happy I ran into you at the airport, it was truly a kind blessing. I hope
Sophie continues with her singing career and that it bears fruit.
I don't have any pictures from Davis, but Ken got to relax a bit this weekend by working on his Firepit Pagoda. Here's a few more pictures. He told me he has six more things to do and then it will be finished!
Ceiling ready to be painted.
Four posts are covered and the ceiling stripes have been painted red.
I can hardly wait to see it with my own eyes!

FIREPIT PAGODA UPDATE
Work, travel and a pinched nerve in the back seem to get in the way of the progression of the Firepit Pagoda, but some work has been done, and here are pictures of the next steps.
Ceiling seams are being finished.
Slate floor tiles have arrived.
Subtle changes taking place.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2001
September 11, 2001.
We all remember that date.

Should be beautiful when they are glowing tonight.
Thanks for honoring those who perished that day.

WRAP UP WEDNESDAY
Here's a wrap-up of a few things going on in the families.
Kristin & Erik Agle:
For Kristin's birthday they headed to San Diego to knock off one of the things are her "bucket list". Looks like they had
Ken and Davis Agle:
Here's a co-ink-a-dink.Ken left on Monday to fly to Kansas. He booked the flight several weeks ago. As the co-ink-a-dink, Davis was scheduled to fly out that same morning to head to Ventura. Here's what Ken wrote:
Okay, a small miracle. I'm leaving to a project today in Kansas City. I found out that Davis Agle (Elder Agle) was leaving to his mission today!!! I sleuthed that he would be flying to Santa Barbara via Denver. Being the savvy traveler, I figured that it had to be one of the morning flights. My flight leaves at 10. I tried the first four and no luck. With 5 minutes before my boarding, I decide to go to the other terminal and see if I can find him. As I'm running, who do I see from behind, but the unmistakable walk of said Elder. I call out and he turns. Needless to say, that was one great moment for me. Granted, it wasn't the one I'm expecting in 102 weeks, but you know I sort of needed this one. That was one great Tender Mercy.
January & Bob Sanders:
And next, January and Bob and thousands of their friends went to see the ball game in San Francisco. A friend of a friend joined them for awhile, who has a World's Series Championship ring. Well, you know January. She asked if she could try it on. Here's the pictures!
"Hi mom and dad. Got to try on the real diamond world series champion ring...mucho diamonds!"
Alexandra Agle:
Who has two thumbs and bought their very own car. That's
right, THIS (jumping) GIRL. It's a very lovely Dodge Caliber
and I shall call it THE BLUE FAIRY. (From Pinocchio,
obviously). A big thanks to my Papa for being my personal
car guide and cut-throat negotiator; Katie for taking the
photo, and Daren for photobombing!
And lastly, Lindsey Agle:
Erik writes: 1st game of the season. Almost called because
of high temps but they were able to finish. Lindsey and the
other "Orange Crush" teammates ended with a win.
