I went to an award ceremony at Sophie's school and saw many interesting displays.

CHINESE DINNER AT HALLOWEEN TIME!

As we wanted, when Ken returned from China, they hosted a dinner and slide show. The most impressive was the Great Wall of China slides because they hiked about 8 miles on a very rough, treacherous part of the Wall. It was a very enjoyable evening.

 If you look closely you can see Ken's newest makeover project. - - turning the laundry room into a MUD and laundry room. A wall has been removed, also a door, and the washer/dryer re-positioned for a better lay out.

Adding a few personal touches.

Ken dropped over one afternoon and hung two pictures and a mirror! The place is beginning to feel more like home!

 We quilters have a saying, "measure twice, cut once". He did and it was perfect when he hung it.

 It is a HEAVY mirror and instead of a wire, it has two separate hangers, one on each side. He nailed it the first time!

 It's in the entry hall it looks especially good.

January suggested hanging it there 

and it is the perfect place for it.

The SJC Mission is in a beautiful spot.

The Temple picture is in the living room by the piano where it fits in nicely.

O P T I M I S T

Since this cute little boutique was right next to the Pumpkin Patch, I thought I'd take a picture of it as well. It's a re-sale shop with THE best name . . .Wandering Wardrobe!

 Such a cute old house. I went in and had a look around. Tiny rooms, steep staircase, and full of charm.

THE OPTIMIST!

 As I got back in my car and pulled out in traffic, I came to a stop light. Next to me "this" pulled up.

Looks like someone did a little target shooting at one time.

 I grabbed my camera and got a few shots.

I would love to see this car in a couple of years,

(and a lot of $$$ put into it!)

ANOTHER CUTE PUMPKIN PATCH

Almost every time I go somewhere in my car, I pass this cute pumpkin patch.

 It is so festive, I had to take a picture. Suzanne told me they have been doing this for years. They leave them out at night (of course) but everything is on the honor system. If no one is there when you pick out your pumpkins, the sign on the door says, "just total up the amount and place it in an envelope and drop in the mail slot".

I guess it works, because they set up every year! 

It's hard to beat October in Utah!

A FUN ACTIVITY

In the past, Sue has sent me some very special hand made cards. There is a very talented lady in "our" ward who every once and awhile offers a class for making cards. She only charges for the actual cost (what could be better than that!) and it is a fun couple of hours.  I've been to two and enjoyed both very much.

 Tammy (in the dark shirt) is the teacher. She opens her home to two classes. One at 1p and the other at 7p. How accommodating is that! She puts a heavy piece of plastic on her table and provides all the punches, card stock, inks, etc.

 My chair is the empty one. I'm taking the pictures!

 There were just the four of us, so we got lots of attention. Dixie, my landlady and really a fun, nice woman is at the end of the table. Sue and I made one of each.

We didn't exactly make cards this time. The black one on the left can hold a candy bar (Snickers, Mars, etc.) and the other two can hold little corn candies, etc.
