Kurt Ander Rummler

Here are a few pictures of the Rummler Family gathering to bless Kevin & Neysa's new baby Kurt who is absolutely gorgeous and ordain Grant to the office of Deacon. It was a wonderful day. All the Rummler kids were there with few exceptions. Kurt's older brother Neal is serving a mission in Budapset, Bonnie is at No Arizona U., and Brent and his family live in Colorado and couldn't make it. Caryn came from Cedar City with her single son and married daughter and her husband and child. All in all it was quite a group. Neysa's mother and a brother and his family were there also. Starting in the top left: some of the group outside the church while we were taking pictures. DOES THIS GUY LOOK HAPPY?

As a matter of fact he does. Why? He just got a (well deserved) promotion, a raise and a company car which includes his gas and any maintenance! Julie and Scott were down to one car which made it hard for Julie when Scott was NOT travelling because then he needed the car to drive to work in Ft. Dodge and that meant she had to ride her bike to work. Riding a bike in the summer is okay but in the snow it's not really an option, so they were about to get another car. This boon came just in the nick of time! CONGRATULATIONS, SCOTT. Well done.

LITTLE CAROL JANE

Okay Rhiannon. Per your request, here is a photo of me when I was about 1 year old. My mother smocked my dress (she did beautiful smocking - in case some don't know what that is, it is the decorative gathered work on my dress). I nice little hankie pinned to the dress was readily available for any runny noses! Of course it had to be a pretty little hankie. How about those chubby cheeks!
(I was always known as Carol Jane until I was about 7. That's when Mary Ann decided to only use her middle name, so I felt I had to follow suit and be like my big sister!)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SISTER BETTY

Today Betty would have been 87. She was born December 1, 1923, exactly 1 year to the day of my parents wedding anniversary. She always felt a little badly about having to share that day but in those days, when the baby was ready, the baby was ready! When I was about 1 1/2 my parents bought a lot in SLC at 1605 So. 8th East in preparation for building their first home. We all took the bus out to the lot (my folks didn't own a car at the time - but busses were very accessable. The big occasion was ground breaking for the new home. Betty loved to take care of me and I think my mother welcomed the respite. I remember Betty always doing kind things for me. One of the things I'm most grateful for is she was the "picture taker" in our family. Without her, I don't think we'd have very many pictures. In this picture she wanted me to also participate in the ground breaking. She's about 15 years old here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RHIANNON

 

Thirty-four years ago we FINALLY welcomed this little girl into the family. Quinton wasn't able to get leave from the Air Force so Dad and I stayed with Carol during the labor. When they finally decided this baby wasn't going to make her presence known without a lot of help, they tried to slow things down until they could get an operating room. That was a long, painful wait. Nevertheless, that sweet baby was finally delivered by C-Section and now you know the rest of the story! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DEAR RHIANNON.
