A FABULOUS TRIP!

January has a friend whose husband is a pilot for a very rich man! He flies him all over the world in one of his many jets.

Recently, he needed to fly to Palm Springs and pick up a man and fly him to Boston for a meeting. They would return the next day. Chuck, (the pilot) asked January if she would like to fly to Palm Springs with his wife and spend the day there and the night in a resort (he would get them a room) and then return the next day after he brings the man back to Palm Springs.

You know what January said. A resounding Y E S!
Here they are boarding the jet.

They were the only passengers! Those seats look comfortable.

When they got there, their car was waiting on the tarmack.

They literally walked down the gangplank and into the car.

We're off!

This is the lobby of the hotel. See that boat? It takes you to the restaurants!

Here is a 30 second video of their 47 minute flight. Chuck put his phone on the cockpit and filmed the trip. It's fun to watch. If you want to see it again, click the half round circle button on the bottom left side.

THERE'S A LOT GOING ON IN MAPLETON

Here's what's going on in the K & C home.

 New sofas
.
It's snowing outside. The first real snow fall.

Me, trying out the new sofas.

 This is the piano's home.

Now it is sharing the new dining room. It will be moved in, in a couple of weeks when the floors can handle that weight.

It is squeezed in with the dining room table (that can seat at least 12).

Here's Aria's new bedroom, formerly Coppelia's office, formerly, Sophie's bedroom, formerly, etc.....

She even has her own computer setup.

Brand new queen size bed.

Bring her home . . . safely.

Closet space.

To help protect their new floors, they bought some traffic carpets.

Under the table gets a lot of traffic!

Note the molding Ken just cut to fit in place.

Voila~ it did take a tad of encouraging.

Here's the new triple seat on the other side. Really nice.

And to top it off, here's the new buggy.

Five drivers and only two cars meant they needed at least one more.

 Look at all that tread!

WHAT'S GOING ON IN MURRIETA?

What's going on in the E & K household?
Lindsey got a new haircut and enjoyed wearing boots on "boot day".

Nate also got a styling new haircut!

Travis keeping up with his music.

Nate on drums. Can you spot him?

Good looking trio.

Watch out Murrieta. A new driver will soon be on the road. Passed his written test, soon the driving part.

Ah yes, the picture!

Erik recovering from surgery on his shoulder. Should be good as new in (xxx weeks, in time for Erik & Kristin to spend Thanksgiving in Indiana.

The surgery went well. Dr. (who is around 60) said it is the worst he has ever seen! Congrats, Erik!

Home at last. Dexter needs a nap too.
Super mom keeps them all on track!

DINNER AT GRANDMA'S

A lot is going on at the K & C house. Newly sanded floors, building a new mud room, getting a room ready for the returning missionary, dealing with my stuff in the garage, just to mention a few!  The poor guys are without a stove and fridge, table and chairs (they had to be moved into the living room until the floors dry) and no place to sit, so it makes it kind of hard to cook  - - especially for a family of six, using only a microwave!

Hence the invitation to come to Sunday dinner at Grandma's. I wasn't sure I could remember how to cook for a group, but it did come back.

Going along with the usual Agle tradition, we had Mexican food: chicken enchiladas, re-fried beans, Spanish rice and salad and of course, chips, salsa, olives and corn (oops - I forgot the corn!) lemonade or water.  This was followed by a rousing game of Mormon Bridge with ice cream and cookies for dessert.

It was fun to have my first dinner party and we fit everyone around the table quite nicely.

Thanks, Ken for taking the picture.

Look, but don't touch the Hummels!

And here's some pictures of the new mud/laundry room.

Such a better lay out. Lots more room.
He moved the washer and dryer to the other wall which made the counters much more accessible.

There will be another seat like this on the other side, but slightly narrower. He removed a wall and a door and rewired, etc. Yes, Ken did all the work himself and designed the seat. Nice job.

YOU CAN'T TAKE IT WITH YOU

Last night I had the delightful experience of attending a play at Nathan Agle's school, entitled,

"You Can't Take It With You."

This is a high school production and it was excellent.
Well-cast, great costumes, good acting and nice set design.

I attended with Ken and Steven and it was a really fun evening.

Meeting his future in-laws.

 Tony Kirby

Who could resist that sweet face?

The set, and most of the cast.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME. . .

It's not every day you turn 78! In fact, I think it only happens once in a life time.  Suzanne planned the party and it was very special. Dennis and Sue, Danielle, Sashy and Curtis, and of course Ken, Coppelia and kids came. She served 3 different soups with bread and crackers. It was impossible to tell which soup was the best.
When I arrived, this beautiful cake was waiting for me. Danielle has a dear friend who does cakes professionally.
Sue envisioned what she wanted and "Amy" did the rest.

Had to get a picture with the cake.

On the trunk are Dad's and my name and there is a leaf for each child and their spouse.

Each large cupcake represents the grand children and the smaller ones are the great-grandchildren.

That's a lot of cupcakes! They were delicious. Each leaf on the cupcake has the name of the child.

Here's Rhiannon' and Eddy's family. Everything was edible.
Can you see the iridescence on the leaves?
It was a great evening and I felt very special.
