HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAROL JANE PRICE AGLE, THE B- I-G 75

Every quarter of a century it happens! Twenty-five years go by! Voila! Just like that. I've now seen 3 of them and I don't want to see a 4th, thank you.

Dad and I had a wonderful time enjoying the Santa Monica area. First we visited the LDS Visitors Center that has been newly remolded. It took 20 minutes to finally find a parking place. Lots of weddings and activities going on. Then it was a drive around Beverly Hills to be looky-loos at the gorgeous homes. Always fun to see how the other half lives. After that we had a nice lunch/dinner and then to our hotel for the everning.

The next morning we went to the Santa Monica Pier and enjoyed all the interesting people and things going on. People watching is so fun. After a great lunch, we headed home via Pacific Coast Highway going though all the little beach towns, ie, Venice, Marina Del Rey, Playa Del Rey, Westchester, El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, Torrance and then around the Palos Verdes penninsula ending up in San Pedro. From there we took the 110 up to the 5 freeway and arrived home safe and sound.

Thanks for all your good wishes and making my birthday so special. Here's some pictures to enjoy.
At the Temple, there is a garden with these beautiful
 minature statues honoring women.

This guy left MacDonalds with his coffee and spent 10 minutes
trying to get it set on this bike.  I couldn't believe it when he got
on it to ride away!

Just off the pier that were setting up these crosses for
some kind a a tribute to fallen soldiers.

It was impressive to see all those crosses, a few star of David, and even some crescents.

Looking back towards the shore.

This display (behind glass- hence the glare) tells a little about
Route 66 which was a BIG deal when it was completed.  It
made it possible to drive practically across the whole USA.

Here's the route.  (It passes Carol and Quinton's store!)

And ends in Santa Monica at the Pier!

The pier was saved from demolition and is one of the few remaining.
It is huge.  Long and wide with lots of shops and concessions.
More tomorrow.

Happy Birthday to Ruth. Ruth and Mom share this holiday season with (almost) shared birthdays. It's a big one for both of us. I was 25 when I had Ruth. (You figure out her age).

Here's a few great recent pictures of her.

Sharing a laugh with Ken.

With her favorite son!
Sharing a joke with her best friend and little sister.

Happy Birthday Ruth.

AUTUMN IN UTAH

You can't visit Utah in October and not take a trip up the canyon to see the beautiful colors.
We headed up the Canyon that has Aspen Grove and Sundance resorts.  Yes, the Robert Redford Sundance.  We didn't see him though but we had lunch at the ski lodge which had some great photographs of movie people.
Walking around the area was so beautiful.
This stream was unbelievably picturesque.
A cute little path.

Very "autumnal" wouldn't you say?
Bridal Veil Falls.  The picture does NOT do it justice. Best we could do though.
Look closely and see Dad.  He blends in.

Everywhere you looked, Jack Frost had been busy with his paint brush.
