THE NEW BATHROOM IN MAPLETON

Well Ken has to be working on a project at all times, so this upstairs bathroom (one of 3 upstairs) was next. Do you think he caught the bug from Eddy? It's been a bit of a challenge since he is on a job out of town during the week. There is a toliet between the shower and the sink where he has put up a privacy dividing wall. Looks very nice, don't you think? New cabinets, new floor, new fixtures, new paint. You can check it out at the family reunion!

SMILE WHEN YOU SAY THAT, PARDNER . .

Greetings to the birthday boy. I guess by now you have guessed who this rootin', tootin' cowboy is. The picture was taken while Leone and Axel were living in Palm Springs in the early days of their marriage. Dennis was about 8 years old and these were probably his birthday presents. He remembers those six shooters with great fondness. Join me in wishing Dennis, Dad, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, Great-grandfather, cousin, etc.,

A VERY HAPPY 78th BIRTHDAY.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SASHY

The birthday are coming fast and furious for the next few days, so we'll start a day early with the lady who is now at a milestone age, 18! No matter what age, as these photos show, she has always been beautiful with a charming smile. Sashy has many talents but one especially stands out in my mind, and that is her blog. If you haven't seen it, here's a link, http://sha-sha-speaks.blogspot.com/ It 's artistic, interesting and fun to read.

This is Sashy's last year of High School and she is busily involved in many, many activities. She recently received her Young Womanhood Award which takes several years to complete requiring hours and hours of work. Congratulations on that wonderful accomplishment. So a very HAPPPY BIRTHDAY to a very special young lady.

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, KATIE

Posted by Picasa

Here she is folks. All grown up and in her 20s. Here are SOME of my favorite pictures, especially the "Russian" type hat!
Katie worked pretty long hours at Banana Republic during the Christmas season and did such great work they have opted to keep her on. She now works about 12- 15 hours a week which leaves her enough time to attend her classes and be a counselor in the Relief Society, a calling she loves and excels in doing. Her major is Behavorial Science and this semester she is taking 4 classes. Intro to General Psychology, Sociology, Personal Health and Physics (hope I got that right, Katie)

Welcome to the 20s Katherine. You're going to love them. They will bring big changes in your life.

UPDATE ON ASHLEE

Here's an update on the Kiwi. Ashlee's cousin is visiting her right now and they are tromping around New Zealand's South Island. (It's summer there you know). They are having lots of fun hiking and as you can see, enjoying the beach. Ashlee starts a new job in Wellington on January 12th working for the Real Estate Commission. She will be probably be doing clerical work. The job is for 6 months as it stands right now. Maybe then she'll have a little more access to a computer. We hope so, so we can hear more about life down under.

OUR NEW 46" 3-D HIGH DEFINITION TV

Hiding the wires to they won't show.

Moving those cabinets our was a pain, but worth it to tackle the mess of all the wires behind the TV.
We're new school now.
Erik was able to get rid of at least 3/4ths of the wires.

Here it is folks. Our brand new baby.
Thanks to all of you who over the last couple of years have made this possible.
A special thanks to Erik for his amazing help in getting the old, unnecessary wiring out and the new hook-up.
It was a several hour task, but he did a great job.

ALL GROWN UP

I asked Aria if she would write a little blurb about life in college to share with the family. She's been home for Christmas break and will be hitting the books again soon.

College has been a fun and also growing experience. I believe you will find me more grown up than I was before (I even do my own laundry now). I truly feel like I was meant to go out to good ol Nebraska. Softball has been good to me. I am known as a "Princess" because I am a pitcher, and Coach Winn says "all pitchers are princesses." However it isn't always easy with early morning workouts and study hall. I enjoy my classes, though I believe I may change my major. I lately have fancied the idea of becoming a teacher, but the florist idea is still there.

College dorm life is nice, although it reminds me a bit of high school. Everyone knows everything. But it's fun.

I've had a lot of missionary experiences. I found that people truly are interested in the gospel and I can really be an instrument. I've learned much about my testimony and what I really believe in. I am especially grateful to my parents who taught me well, and to my grandparents who taught them. :)

As for friends, my best friend is definitely Preston, also my boyfriend. He was a senior when I was a freshmen at Springville High. I only really knew him for basketball and the picture of him shooting that's hanging up in the hall of the high school. Then he went on a mission to Chile, came back went to Utah state. I graduated high school, he red shirted and we both went to Western Nebraska Community College. Guess you have to go out of state to meet someone from the same town as you. But he's awesome and we get along really well. He's practically my opposite in lots of ways. He acts like he's 40 whereas I'm still a 12 year old,
(that's why I put those pictures in of "young" Aria - Grandma) guess together we make an average aged person. I'll have to tell you more about him sometime.

I have something called a dorm family. It's like a home away from home. Families sign up and each player gets to be their "dorm kid" and you can choose whether to be more involved with them or not. Personally I go over to their house lots, as well as the activities the kids are involved in, such as sports. My family is the Schwartz they have three kids and I love them very much. They're wonderful people. I've missed my family lots. It's hard sometimes, especially leaving my siblings. It'll be okay though, I'll try to excel at school and softball. That's about it though :) If you want to know anything more I'd be happy to oblige!! Love you guys :) Aria

Well our dear Sister Agle is home from her mission. The weather was iffy but she made it. It's so nice to have her back in the bosom of her family. Though she left a couple of weeks early to get some much needed medical attention for her back, her Mission President told her that "Danielle should have only good feelings about her mission, and that she has accomplished in her 17 months what it would take most missionaries 3 years to accomplish."

Here's an bit of an email sent to Dennis & Sue from Danielle's Mission President.

"You know of our affection for your daughter. I had her bear testimony today in a major leadership training meeting we just concluded. She was “spo...t on” as they say here in New England. What a marvelous latter-day warrior she is. I could not contain the rush of tears as she then led the closing song, “As I Have Loved You” in sign language. I shall not forget that mental picture so saturated with the spirt in this life or the next. Thank you for sharing this precious resource with the NHMM. To say she is loved would be a serious understatement. God bless you all. God bless Danielle Agle!"
